Music Advertising, Publicity and Promotion

Advertising - refers to paid space
With the right funding we would use advertising methods such as; TV ads for our album, creating Lola her own website, Adverts on buses and in undergrounds, magazine features focusing on her character as well as music and gigs/concerts to raise awareness.

Publicity - generally free marketing
We could achieve great publicity through; radio appearances highlighting new talent, internet interviews, launch parties, being a supporting act on tour, store and TV appearances such as on X Factor and simply receiving magazine and TV reviews.

Promotion - involves the use of other materials
Competitions, give away's, merchandise sales, using the song in an advert, radio airplay and of course music videos would definitely be the obvious ways to promote an upcoming artist. Although music videos are very expensive they would be worth it in the long run as it is the easiest way to promote a new song, a bit about the character and an overall idea of what's to come. Also, creating a myspace page and twitter account, making sure songs are on Youtube, possibly Itunes and Play.com so they are available to download.
